Adult faith formation is a critical component of
the work carried out by the Archbishop’s Office for Evangelisation.
Faith formation is a ‘womb to tomb’ experience for each of
us as we grow in the life of Christ. The work carried out by this office
is an intentional effort to offer opportunities to nurture that growth. “It calls for a renewed presentation of Scripture and tradition,
which leads to a personal encounter with Jesus Christ and is missionary
in outlook.”
(Archbishop Denis Hart, We Are Sent – A Pastoral Letter on Evangelisation.
2004)

“We must rekindle in ourselves the impetus of the beginnings and
allow ourselves to be filled with the ardour of the apostolic preaching
which followed Pentecost…. This passion will not fail to stir in
the Church a new sense of mission, which cannot be left to a group of
'specialists' but must involve the responsibility of all the members of
the People of God. Those who have come into genuine contact with Christ
cannot keep him for themselves, they must proclaim him. A new apostolic
outreach is needed, which will be lived as the everyday commitment of
Christian communities and groups.”
(Pope John Paul II, Novo Millennio Ineunte 40)
