STAND UP
AGAINST POVERTY ON

G20 Make Poverty History Concert at SHC, Kyneton
In line with hundreds of other schools all over the country, Sacred Heart College, Kyneton, held a Make Poverty History concert at lunch time on Friday 17th November. Our Mini Live 8 (Live 1/8! ) Concert earlier in the Term had thrown up some amazing talent amongst our students and they really let fly last Friday, belting out Jimmy Hendrix classics as if lives depended on it……… which they DO!
A highlight of the half hour of mind-blowing rock was the band being joined by Andrew Dunne, Media teacher and, we now realize, rock guru extraordinaire. Older members of staff were reminded of the genius of Joe Cocker and the synchronicity between the band and their guest vocalist lifted the audience off their seats.
A huge thankyou to the fabulous band, who just keep getting better and better each time we hear them play. In the middle of a ridiculously busy and exhausting week they organized themselves and were incredibly generous with their time:

Kevin Atkinson
Ned Claridge
Jared Kloprogge
Billy Matheson
James White

They had the invaluable help of Symone Barry, John Flynn, Jess Ball and Emily Plowman.
There was enough heart, body and soul being generated by this small group of young students to make you feel like we will change the world for the better. Let’s hope the G20 leaders feel that too.
